Saturday, July 25,  2020 Sailing From Boothbay Harbor Your two-hour voyage aboard Boothbay Harbor's largest schooner gives you time to relax and see the Maine coastline. The Inn at Cuckolds Lighthouse allows visitors to view the inside of this magnificent lighthouse near Boothbay Harbor. Burnt Island Light  is the most visible lighthouse near Boothbay Harbor. Built in 1821, its red light is visible for 12 miles, and its foghorn can be heard throughout the harbor. Census Work Traveling

Putting over 50 miles a day --doing temp work with the US Census Bureau.   Snapped a couple of pictures in Winthrop--driving over to an island.  Cobbossee Lake  Cobbosseecontee Lake , also known as  Cobbossee Lake , is a lake located in the towns of  Litchfield ,  Manchester ,  Monmouth ,  West Gardiner , and  Winthrop   Maine . It is the largest lake in the  Winthrop Lakes Region  at 100 feet (30 m) deep, covering about 8.7 square miles (23 km 2 ) in surface area, a length of 9 miles (14 km), and a shoreline of 62 miles (100 km). The word Cobbosseecontee translates to "plenty of sturgeon" in  Wabanaki . [2]

Capital Park Augusta , Granite Hill Park

July 8, 2020 Great walk in Capital Park Augusta,ME Created in 1827, Capitol Park is Maine’s earliest documented designed landscape. Augusta residents donated 34 acres overlooking the Kennebec River for the future State House and landscape and planted a formal allĂ©e of elms as a dignified setting for the Capitol. In 1920 Governor Carl Milliken commissioned the Olmsted Brothers, represented by Carl Rust Parker, to prepare plans for the grounds of the Governor’s mansion (Blaine House), State House, and park. The firm completed designs in 1920 and consulted sporadically until about 1929. ... wide gravel paths between four rows of historic elms and a formal granite entryway, and also included large expanses of lawn for public gatherings. street is  Granite City Park , the colorful Adirondack chairs that line the Kennebec River.

July 6, 2020 Newry road trip

The Sunday River Bridge, also known locally as the Artists Bridge, is a historic covered bridge in Newry, Maine. It is located northeast of the Sunday River Ski Resort, adjacent to the crossing of the Sunday River by Sunday River Road, which the bridge formerly carried The very first bridge in that location over the Sunday River was built in 1811. In 1869 a great flood washed out the bridge. The current artists’ bridge was built in 1872 by local builders. It was built in 2 sections, assembled together in place and the roof was then erected. The bridge survived the flood of 1927. In 1957, the town of Newry voted to build a new bridge in that location. The town also voted to save the Artists’ bridge due to is historical significance. 1  The bridge is currently owned and maintained by the State of Maine.
